Construction Update - June 16, 2021
Tolling to Resume
Beginning Friday, June 18, UDOT will resume tolling the Express Lanes on northbound I-15 between Bangerter Highway and I-215 through Salt Lake County. The tolls have been suspended, with the Express Lanes opened to all vehicles, to help reduce traffic delays during construction.
Once tolling resumes, the Express Lanes may only be used by carpools, buses, motorcycles, emergency vehicles, C Decal vehicles and single-occupant vehicles with an Express Pass. For more information on Express Lanes and the Express Pass, visit udot.utah.gov/expresslanes.
The I-15 Northbound project is close to completion, and most activities will be finalized by mid-July. Minor finishing work and lane closures will occur overnight as needed until this work is complete.
Currently, the new ramp system from 9400 South to I-215 and the new general-purpose lane from Bangerter Highway to 9400 South are open to drivers. This work concludes phase one of the project. Phase two, which will include a new ramp system from Bangerter Highway to 9400 South, is funded but does not have a construction date.
